Electric Shock Anti-Smoking Device

If you're trying to give up smoking, then you should forget nicotine patches, gum or other everyday methods and get yourself the patented Electronic Smoking Inhibiting Device. With this wonderful invention, you use a specially-modified cigarette packet hooked up to a battery and an electrode to give yourself a shock each time you take a cigarette.

Ignoring the obvious flaws (Why wouldn't you just disconnect it? How do you shock yourself if you accept a cigarette from someone else? Once they realised you were using it, your friends would constantly ask for a cigarette just to see you get shocked when they took one), we started to wonder what would happen if you took this a step further. Instead of just being shocked, what if some more dramtic deterrent occurred, like a small explosion?

Amazingly, there's a patent for this too - the Firing Device for Cigarette Package, which "detonates an explosive cap when a cigarette is removed from the package."

This was only intended for novelty purposes, but you could build in a larger explosive device to provide a more serious deterrent...
